Today is launch day! The website is live, the Facebook ads are running, and now I wait to see if anyone in the Flathead Valley wants to take sewing classes.

Local peeps, you can help me out by liking or following the page on Facebook. Share it widely. Local sewing peeps, you can go to the website and sign up for the newsletter. If you want a specific kind of class, please let me know. I will get it on the schedule. Right now, I just have the Beginning Sewing classes listed.

I am meeting this morning with someone who has both sewing and event planning experience to see if she would be interested in helping me to plan a serger retreat for next year. I’ve already had someone from California ask me to be on the list to be notified if I schedule one. 😮 Retreats are the “special events” part of what I am offering.

I am juggling a thousand tiny little details and I am sure I missed something, so don’t hesitate to let me know if you see something egregious.

I enjoyed teaching at the quilt store, but that arrangement reached a point this summer where it wasn’t working any longer. The Mountain View Mennonite Church basement wasn’t being used and we had plans to renovate the bathrooms for the bike tour, so I approached our Leadership Team about having classes there. I think it will work well. I can store tables and machines in the space, the entrance is off the lower level parking lot, and the church is only four miles from my house and just a bit more than that from town.

The Sew Expo class coordinator e-mailed me yesterday and asked if I would be interested in teaching a four-hour class on Wednesday, the day before Expo begins. We are discussing possible classes that would fit in that slot. It will make for a long week—I am already scheduled to teach six other classes—but if I am going to be there, I might as well teach. I can manage my stamina level.

I cooked down another batch of tomatoes yesterday. The sauce is waiting in the fridge for me to can it, hopefully this afternoon. It looks like we are in for a stretch of nice—and dry—weather. Still no frost in the forecast, so I’ll keep harvesting tomatoes as long as I can.

I have a lot going on right now, yes, but it’s a good kind of busy.
